Thanks for your help Will,

I checked on my computer C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS6 (64 Bit)\Plug-ins\Plug-Ins\Plug-Ins\Filters and it's everything alright, the NormalMapFilter64.8bf file is where it 's supposed to, so... I didn't have any troub...Thanks for the reply!

I didn't have any trouble installing the filter. The only thing I can think of off the top of my head would be to check and make sure you're installing it in the right folder. Adobe has stuff scattered across both the Program Files and the Program Files (x86) folder. It's annoying.

Follow this file path all the way to the Filters folder:

C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS6 (64 Bit)\Plug-ins\Filters

You should have a file in there named NormalMapFilter64.8bf or something similar. If not, try your install again.

This,of course, assumes that Photoshop is installed in the default location. If not, navigate appropriately. The plug-in has to be in that Filter folder in order to appear in the Filter menu.

That's the only thing that I can think of off the top of my head. If it's installed in the right folder, it should be there.

Good luck and keep me updated! Will Mahanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01884751477448768457noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8452434659551517455.post-59206012064148368492013-05-10T10:53:13.279-05:002013-05-10T10:53:13.279-05:00I agree with dkliman, almost every artist works wi...I agree with dkliman, almost every artist works with a Mac, WE NEED IT too!

A sides from that, at work i have to use a PC because of my company's software program being only compatible with PC. I have Photoshop CS6, compatible with this, and I installed it as the prompts said. I go to my Photoshop>Filter and it's not there at all. I tried to reopen Photoshop and it still doesn't appear. Do I have to do something else in Program Files? Am I missing something here? Thanks for the help and your post. I don't use Mac, so unfortunately I don't know what works with it and what doesn't.

I also don't know the statistics of Mac vs. PC Photoshop users. The only answer I have is, there hasn't been enough demand from Mac users for that particular plug in to justify a conversion.

You might try contacting Nvidia directly and seeing if you can get some feedback concerning the issue.

Good luck. Will Mahanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01884751477448768457noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8452434659551517455.post-13331623590593152302012-09-15T19:55:36.585-05:002012-09-15T19:55:36.585-05:00That plug-in doesn't work with the mac. That's been my goal f...Thanks for the comment. That's been my goal from the very beginning. A lot of tutorials aren't really tutorials at all. Instead, they're used as an opportunity to gloat. Although I admit, I feel pride when hours and days of hard work culminate into something impressive, that's not my goal here. My goal is to share tips and techniques I've learned over the coarse of my Photoshop career.

That's why most of my tutorials do not consist of flashy, high-end projects. Instead, I try to teach very specific techniques, giving only a glimpse at the potential. That gives you, as a reader, the freedom to develop those techniques and incorporate them into your own projects without feeling like you're just "copying the guy in the video". In other words, once you're done, even if you use my techniques exactly as shown, you can still end up with a final result that you can call your own.

I always say that one of the most gratifying things about teaching others is having the opportunity to see you combine my techniques with your own ideas. The results are usually impressive and almost always surprising. Will Mahanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01884751477448768457noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8452434659551517455.post-65545110145370507322012-06-17T13:14:31.571-05:002012-06-17T13:14:31.571-05:00Congratulations.
